Whether you’re flying, driving or walking, find your way to Pinewood here. Once you’ve arrived, Pinewood is only a short walk from the city centre.

Where is Queenstown?

Queenstown is in the southwest corner of the South Island of New Zealand. Queenstown International Airport is just a 15-minute drive from Pinewood. Pinewood itself is located here. It’s just a short, 2-minute drive from the city centre or about a 10-minute walk.

Flying to Queenstown

Located 15 minutes from the city centre of Queenstown, the International Airport services the region with daily domestic flights from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and regular direct trans-Tasman flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Coolangatta. Auckland and Sydney are the major international hub airports for long haul visitors and some international airlines also fly to Christchurch Airport.

Four major airlines provide scheduled services at Queenstown Airport. Air New Zealand and Jetstar offer both domestic and international flights to and from Queenstown while Qantas and Virgin Australia fly internationally between Queenstown and the east coast of Australia.

Driving to Queenstown

If you’re planning to travel by road, you can drive yourself, hop on a bus or join a coach tour. With major New Zealand highways connecting Queenstown to surrounding South Island regions, you’ll come across incredible natural landscapes and different attractions on the way. It makes for an ideal trip if you have time to explore.

There are daily buses to Queenstown from Wanaka, Dunedin, Invercargill and Christchurch as well as scheduled coach tours and backpacker tour buses. There are also rental car and motor home depots based at Queenstown Airport and some operators have offices in the city centre.
